Curate Product Update Highlights of 2022

Throughout the year, Curate has continued to release features and add functionality that makes the platform the premiere service for monitoring policy and opportunities in local governments, school districts, and state boards.

With every update too numerous to list, the following are some of the most noteworthy advancements that have been added to the software so far in 2022.

FiscalNote App Sidebar
A sidebar matching the one in the FiscalNote app was added to Curate. The sidebar contains quick links to the FiscalNote, VoterVoice, and CQ platforms. Making it easy for users of Curate and these other platforms to quickly work in one platform, then another.

State Board Tracking
In the third quarter of 2022, Curate added State Board monitoring as an additional data source, along with municipal and county governments and school districts. Starting with Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, and Nursing, each state board's meeting minutes and agenda documents can now be monitored in Curate.

Favorites, Folders & Comments
Curate expanded as local issues tracking and management platform with the introduction of Favorites, Folders & Comments features. Now, when you Favorite an item, you can save it to a public or private Folder to better organize key issues as it fits your personal or organization’s processes. You are also able to add Comments directly to a Snippet to collaborate and call colleagues to action.

More Uses for Custom Filter Profiles
With this release, users can choose to receive email alerts for any of their Custom Filter Profiles. Each profile has its own settings and can be set up individually, so emails can be received at different frequencies for different profiles.

The Custom Filter Profile can also be selected when using the Research Tool. Doing this will automatically select the locations and Topics related to that filter profile. Location and Topics can still be further refined, but starting with a Custom Filter Profile selection speeds up the process of conducting research.

Bulk Selection Filters
More tools to make using Curate quicker and easier, when customizing the settings of Custom Filter Profiles or the parameters of the Research Tool, selecting location types and different population thresholds can be done quickly with filter toggles.

The Most Recent Documents of a Location Added to the Local Hub
The recent meeting minutes and agenda documents of a municipality, county, school district or state board now appear on its page in the Local Hub section of Curate. This list will include all documents with meeting dates in the last 60 days as well as documents with upcoming dates.

Curate API
The Curate API allows organizations (with a license and fee) to extract data from Curate into their own databases. This will allow them to create custom data visualizations (think: heat map of their locations and hot topics), dig into trends within their data, and layer in data from Curate into their systems.

More Stakeholder Contact Data
The number of local contacts was expanded to more than 168,000 in more than
8,600 locations within the Local Hub. We also implemented daily refreshes. As contact data changes, it will be reflected the next day in the Local Hub.

"And" Search Functionality in the Research Tool
Users can now toggle the search logic between “AND” and “OR”. When using AND logic, results are returned where all search terms were found within the same Snippet. When using OR, results are returned where any of the terms were found.
